Yumeh! Gyros = best braking system for BMX.
I took all of your advice, right down to the springs. I haven't taken it out for a ride, but it feels incredible and grabs sooooo well. I am very impressed and proud of myself. Thanks for your input Sherb, it helped immensely.
Super sick that you dialed up a gyro setup from start to finish. 99% of people mess up wayyyy too hard to ever try again. Congrats.
First try son!!. I have not set up a gyro since the 90's LOL. I did my homework (extensively) and I had some smart peeps that gave some solid advice. The only head scratching for me was how to set up the springs on my Fly brake (googled it and success!!) Everything else was fairly straightforward. I will get a proper pic of everything tomorrow. You will be proud Sherb.
Welp, Sunday's in the mail, so I hopefully I'll be able to get down to CJ's soon and see it in person!
Recipe for brake success...... Firstly, don't run a brake, run a gyro and dual pull. Only use an Ody gyro. Snafu Astroglide uppers are bomb and have less friction. Use 2 brake noodles after the gyro tabs for the curve (they also have less friction). Now two short pieces of housing (one for each cable, thusly dual pull) from the noodles to a London Mod (google or I can find you a pic). After london mod, cables go straight into brake. Not only does it work f*cking fantastic, but I can also adjust each caliper individually. Win. If you follow those steps, your shit will be dialed. If you have questions or need pics, just ask. I have set up a lot of BMX brakes, but this gyro and dual pull dominates all of them, period.
turned out good glad to see it's working, i broke my lever this past weekend not stoked at all I'm thinking superglue should fix it don't feel like expending money, BTW are you going to be a cj's on Sunday?
nah i also have spare monolever but I'm running the m2 cable on top so i cant run the monolever i have figured out a way to fix it. I might be hitting cj's on Sunday its either that or toronto street.
small? and i should be able to fix it, the only thing wrong with it is that the hinge on it broke from a bad hit so i will use a screw to keep it together. but if it doesn't work i will holla at you for the lever.
Dunno, might be med. Holla if you need it, no worries if you don't. Hopefully you make it out on Sunday. I may be on the little bike.
No, but you could put those 99 pennies in a sock and beat someone down for another 401 pennies and I would part with the lever.

As soon as I get a good shot of my bike, I will post it up. The light in my room was shit last night.
