24-70, 70-200... i'd say if he already has the 70-200, the middle's not a 200 f/2.0... so a 300! haha

flag charleyboy14 (Nov 1, 2009 at 9:45)
Bragging rights like everything else, nah just kiding (sort of) its so you can be at a distance and bring the subject closer

flag Muttley (Nov 1, 2009 at 10:08)
Like as said, he uses it for american football, means he can get a close up shot of something happening on the other side of the pitch.

flag sam111 (Nov 1, 2009 at 15:46)
you can actually get a 70-200 lens like the one in the middle allot smaller but then you end up having a slower shutter speed therefore harder to get a sharper shot. The only disadvantage of say that 70-200 lens is its weight. and believe me their heavy.
  • + 1
flag Muttley (Nov 1, 2009 at 15:49)
sorry can you quickly run through what you just said? the one in the middle isnt a 70-200???
  • + 1
flag charleyboy14 (Nov 1, 2009 at 15:50)
No you cant the lense on the right, the 70-200 f2.8 is also avaliable in f4 exactly the same mesurments and in compariseon to the 200 f2.0 or the 300mm they arnt that heavy

flag Muttley (Nov 1, 2009 at 15:53)
Ooooh is that the 2.8? very flashy, god i wish i had more money.

flag charleyboy14 (Nov 1, 2009 at 15:54)
to be fair the camera gear is relatively cheap on the grand scale of things ie Flights hotels transfers insurance and so on
  • + 2
flag Muttley (Nov 1, 2009 at 15:56)
Really though? because flights and hotels dont cost that much.
  • + 1
flag sam111 (Nov 1, 2009 at 16:01)
sorry.. i was just trying to say that you can get a small (ish) telephoto lens. but you have to compromise with a slower shutter speed f4 for example.
  • + 1
flag charleyboy14 (Nov 1, 2009 at 16:07)
@ Muttley next year for me will cost around 5-6 thousand on flights and accomodation and ill be scumbagging it. @ sam111 sorry for the missunderstanding and your right

My 50-200 does the job Smile dont really use it much for biking though, used it oncea nd was very impressed. i might have to use it again sooo..... everything here is so tight though, no use for such a long lense.

you have to scale the prices of lenses in comparison to getting a mortgate on a sports car. it makes things seem much cheaper! haha

flag rob-k (Nov 2, 2009 at 13:49)
5-6 grand? wow! how do you afford it all, have a job or do you sell a lot of your images to mags etc as i didnt think that they paid very much!?!?
  • + 1
flag StevePrice (Nov 2, 2009 at 13:57)
wont just do MTB im guessing, does extreme sports like MX and American football. all in all there will be enough mags and that looking for shots to pay suffiently. its just a hell of a competetive business and hard to get into...

@ muttley's point , a pro could have much more expensive and far superior, and alot more costly than what he has here. This for a pro photographer maybe mere hand luggage?

theres a site somewhere of a dude heading off to the olympics, he had 15 1Dmk3 Bodies, almost every L Series lense in the book, 30+ PW's and flashes, and to top it off, almost £100K in flash cards, amazing.

flag Muttley (Nov 3, 2009 at 8:50)
Wait, so your seriously saying that 9/11 was NOT a terrorist attack. your ACTUALLY going to do this, going to argue with someone who has probably looked into the evidence alot more than you have, and has access to FAR more information than you could ever gain?
  • + 0
flag snaple (Nov 3, 2009 at 8:55)
No, i never said that, I'm just saying he inst going to tell his kids about his private job if he is so high up, my dad is the same except in national grid. He can't tell me anything because you don't even know what could happen if someone found out were he works. So I doubt if your dad is high up in the aeroplane business he wont tell his kid's all the details.

  • + 1
flag Muttley (Nov 3, 2009 at 9:49)
Steve, ill give you that, i hadnt seen that article, when i said about mt dad i was referring to the 9/11 issue, we have spent hours and hours discussing this theory, weve looked at the facts available, and the only, slightest doubt that can be cast is the pentagon strike, and even then, its not a plausible theory, just accept the fact it happened and stop believeing anti governmental crackpots.
  • + 1
flag StevePrice (Nov 3, 2009 at 9:57)
I dont really think its something that we should just accept, thousands of people died and another hundreds of thousands of people have died as a consequence. Answers to the flaws that people have found, like for example the major unanswered questions about the "plane" that hit the pentagon really cant just be accepted. thats my view on it anyway. im done on this matter.
