you should go local for your purchase, that lens is like $30, and that tripod is a piece of crap (I have the same one), the mic might cost a bit but it will be cheeper overall, as they kill you on duty and shipping from new york. BTW I got y camera from the same place, it would have been $200 cheaper to buy from london drugs or future shop.

alright good to know. and i have made a few changes. i'm getting the newer hv40 (native 24p and smart button) and the century optics wide angle (overall better glass and construction). i'm still on the search for a tripod. can you recomend any good ones?

not really, I need a new one as well but have no idea where to start.

lots of mixed reviews make it hard to find one. I'll probably go to a photo and video shop and ask.

mhmm, just make sure it has a fluid head, and doesn't feel weak.
we should ride next time I come to van, we seem to have very similar bikes and riding styles.

yep. how are you liking the DHX air on your shocker? I tried one for a while and thought it was alright, but not quite as sensitive as a DHX coil.

yea, its what i could afford at the time. But its has been good. Not too many problems and feels nice. If i were to get another shock i'd probably get a coil though. seems to be more reliable.

nice and good fisheye, but im not to big on the camera, you can get a sony fx7 for 2000 new, or a panasonic dvx100a used for 1500. If you want i can send you a profile that has a bunch of videos filmed by me and an fx7, and i think laarock has a dvx100a

A canon hv40 is no where near the cost of those cameras. I am getting the hv40 new for $945. I can't afford a $2000 camera right now. Its a stellar camera for the price and can take very nice shots. I'm not going to throw down a bunch of money on a camera until after film school anyways. And even then i will probably keep this as a second camera since it is so good.

i think i am going to stick to the hv40. It has way better quality than the dvx100a and dvx100b. Even when you upres the dvx footage it still doesn't look as good as the hv40.

broadway cameras sell an hv40 for 950 and have 4 different lenses at 189 each, apparently the velbon sherpia 200r or dv7000 are both good tripods.

sick, going to check into those tripods. I'm going to buy my hv40 from fotofun in new west for the same price and its good that i only live like 4 mins away! Do you know what brand of lenses broadway sells?

they sell raynox which is a descent brand, i know a guy whos got experience with hv30/40s and films professionally for a snowboard film company, so if you need to know anything i can ask him. i wonder why nowhere like london drugs or future shop sells them

i donno. maybe because the average consumer is to stupid to figure out how to use/upload mini dv tapes to their computer?

Leos camera in north van. I'm pretty sure they sell century optics which is a good brand and a few others. Just e-mail them and ask. They will respond quickly.
