Ya, I have this photo, its of this car on a road and a mountain in the background, its my desktop. and thats about how low mine will be when I get my suspension set up here in the next month or so.
it'll be about as ratty as this, im taking off the rear bumper as well, leaving the weld marks form the fender flares and were im replacing certain areas of the body due to rust repair lol, so it'll be a rat rod until I can afford a paint job. probably Primer, then im thinking pearl blood red and black.
hopefully, fingerscrossed. Ill have the body stuff done by december when I move to Fresno or Seattle. havent decided yet. filling pinkbike with messages is old, you have facebook or something easier. my comp is slow as hell tonight
2jz and 1jz: will cost more than 6000 for a decent swap. good engine, f*cking powerful and have a lot of potential, but the toyota swap in a nissan is not the best idea, unless you're a mec.
rb25det: good choice. but don't forget that you'll have to rebuild it.. $$
ka24de-t: good potential out there. if your engine has low mileage and hasn't been beat up too much, good choice but it might be about 2800 to have a good turbo set up that gives around 280hp depending on how you set up your PSI
the sr20det is deffinly not a option i could turbo my stock motor and smoke a sr20det soo ya i found a place for the rb26dett for 2500 which is a good price
sorry to jump in this convo, but thought I would add... For an RB26Dett into an s14, you will still need an rb25det Tranny and oil pan, since the rb26 is an awd platform and it runs the front axle through the oil pan...hence you need the rb25 (rwd) oil pan and tranny (rwd only). And a custom driveshaft... and the appropriate engine management, fuel pumps etc to run the two turbos, 6 injectors etc.
But I still say go for it if you have the cash! post pics if you ever do it!
Fully agree I wouldn't mind one, I have my eye on a Datsun myself, but since I am not really too good with electrical (computers in cars originally with carburetor etc), I am considering a crate V8 (350 or something along those lines) with a manual tranny...
then you better be handy with a welder lol, and if you do Megasquirt Operating system, that controls fuel and spark, its alot easier to swap any motor.
