I really don't think that you 18 and 17 year old riders really know..
Their has been riding for a long time..The reason that bmx technology doesn't change much is because it works awesomely just the way it is..
One the other hand mtb parts are always changing..Because they can always be improved on..The mtb companies find the weaknesses and change the standards so often in mtb that You'd have to be a big baller to afford the new stuff every time you break it..
BMX has been giving young and old alike joy for a long time now..
So what if this is a predominantly mtb website,,Its also predominantly full of immature, ego balling idiots..
Does that mean unless I become one of your mtb gang and start talking crap to everyone, will I then be accepted??
You all are silly for even arguing that a Mountain bike is gonna be stronger than a bmx..
Moving parts are weaker..taller parts..skinnier parts..aluminum parts..less spokes..
These are all the common feature of your precious mountain bike..Its gonna break and rust and seize up and all that,, just so you can say that you have gears and can absorb the bumps with technology...And some of you say that this guy must suck at riding..I don't think so...I doesn't take much to snap a headtube on a mountain bike..You'll find so many videos of mountain bikes breaking during useage..
You'll see bmxers..completely eat it on their bikes..they'll get pissed off and throw the bike as hard as they can against the concrete and get on it ride ride the trick again..
Say that about a mountain bike.. and show me the proof..
You mtbers are full of it..I've been a biker for a long time..I've built mtbs way longer than bmx..
I see the flaws in both..You mountain bikes are still in progress..the technology is not complete and you're riding an experiment..
you are my new god dude, that was amazing text i agree in almust every line.
except of.. Bmx bikes are still in progress if you didnt notice becouse of there strengh so good they starting to shave of the frames and make all lighter you can get an pretty strong bmx today with full 4pegs + hub gourd that weight like 9kilos... thats an hugh progressing... Plus the metherials are changing.. if you didnt notice Bmxing started to use Titanium parts not so long ago
264 i totally agree , and this is just my personal thought, bmx sucks, many people say bmx is stronger than mtb and that mtb's are alway breaking well, do bmx's go down huge slopes at huge speeds oh and btw even street riders go bigger than any bmx anyday also may i add bmx are small so its easy to do tricks on but if you do something on a mtb with a bigger frame it takes more skill to handle, another point is that mtbs are more comfy to ride but il give bmx one thing they doo look quite nice at some times but even then mtb makers are thinking in their godly mind of different ways to make mtbs better another thing is why the f.u.c.k would you buy a bmx for arround 500 quid when you can buy an even better mtb for that money so there is my argument and thats final
hmm, i agree to a point, i think for £500 you're going to get a good BMX, but both have their good points, BMX's are easier to trick on etc, but i just feel more comfortable on an mtb
well. XD that was my opinion to before i got my bmx, and then i just noticed somthin.. it isnt realy metter the thing you calling "comfrotable" becouse after a week-mounth or so.. youll get use to the new bike and you wont even remember that stupid comfortable issue..
the awesomest thing about us "peoples" that we are geting used to stuffs and changes in our lifes realy fast.
thats kinda irrelevant. if anything aluminium steerers are weaker, and all the top of the line dj's use alu steerers. you dont see this happening anywhere near as often.
eh? that's my point, alu steerers ARE weaker and that has steel ^ it's unlikely it's a case of "oh shit my fork snapped for no reason", more like "oh shit, i just snapped my fork casing a jump again" or something similar
yeah man you're a moron, i've seen plenty of bmx's break, they're made of the same materials and are just as strong at mtb, face it, you make some bad landings out of your skill level on a bmx, you're just as likely to f*ck it up.
what ever i dont wanna waste my word on a moron that dont understand simple physics.
lets say it like that cuz you morons can understand. BMX small MTB big.
now go out, and take a stick. make it 21 inch. take another same stick and make it 10 inch.
try to brakes those on your leg, and see how brake faster? i have nothin against MTB i love it in all my hurt i just freaking sick of buying new parts and braking them. also im using lots of BMX parts on my bike that make it very strong i never had problems with my bmx parts only with the MTB ones as FORKs Frames Stem and affcourse the 24inch wheel are geting loose very fast cuz of the size. i personaly find MTB street funer but after braking this and rolling 5flips to the rode i scare to hit big things on the MTB bikes. i hope you ppls got my point. if not go screw your self morons
lmao. its ignorant fools like you who unfortunatly run this world, and are turning it into the shithole it is. i dont understand physics? i have enough on a knowladge of it to know how ridiculous your last statement was.
you just know i right so you talking shit to me. if you said you right im sory you beem smarter this time you might got out of it a little cooler and even sound smart but you shit face talking like moron and since you got knowladge you shuld know 20" wheel will be stronger then an 24" and an 21" frame will be stronger then an 22" frame.
and that the alu stirer in my stupid fork arent strong as the Cromo in the BMX stirer tubes of the forks
BMX is stronger you cant keep lie to ur self. if we talking about whats FUNER we can make this converastion very long but we talking about the abbilty of those parts to survive in bad conditions and for long time and BMX just prof it every time.
argyle steeres are steel, i am a trained rock shox mech, so you can stop your lies now plz thx. do you really think 4 inches of size will make the slightest difference when talking terms of strength? mate, i dont want an argument here but these arguments you are trying to make are utterly rediculous! bmx stronger? maybe. bmx less technologically advanced? not by a f*cking long shot, theres been so little change in the last 20 years its not worth mentioning. oh wow, 1pc drivers, and somewhere along the line some guys brake fell off and it stuck. BY THE WAY its BREAKS not brakes.
ok so the 409 steerer is alu, but it shouldn't snap like that under normal stresses yes, smaller stuff is, in theory, stronger, but mtb components such as rims are more built up to avoid snapping, mtb frames etc snap just as much as bmx frames. At the end of the day, if you land badly on either, you're just as likely to f*ck your bike up
apologise excepted and i now see you as a more mature person, about the argue i prefer not to do at becouse as you said i will go as well to the death about my opinion :O
anyway my fork got broken i didnt rode a cycle about 2mounth and the argue did was a little fun and helped pass my time ty XD
my cranks are 180mm f*ggot i like my shit big and stop flaming MTBers those are sick and just cuz youre too fat to be good at bmx and too much of a bitch to ride 26 doesnt mean u hav to flame users that know what the f*ck theyre talknig about. and im talking to mr-duv, the fat piece of shit who thinks he knows whats up.
it is 60mm and it broke like that. it didnt flex it got snaped becuz i landed the 180 on the last stair like 3times it did make an hugh presher on my fork that the all deal..
Fact..20 inch wheels are stronger. Fact aluminum has a 5 year shelf life. Fact shorter tubing is stronger than longer tubing.. I've ridden both mtb and bmx..
I'll say that I don't like his additude, but bmx bikes are way stronger than any mountain bike.
The strongest mountain bike would be a 24 inch full cromo dirtjumper with rigid funn forks..
Shocks and gears are just more parts that can malfunction..
I understand the preference..
But the facts are the facts..head on collision bmx verses mtb,,the mtb would come out mangled....
see guys, everyone hates DJ's for breaking, true, the new ones seem to be complete garbage, and have been sinse 2008, but you see SO many argyles snapping at the head tube!
no chance. think about the OEM market- DJ3's are all you get, more expensive- DJ1/2. there is no chance in HELL there are more argyles out there than there are dirt jumpers.
charge262 - well more of the professional ( people most likely to snap them ) use them then any dj fork! yeh dj fork probably sell more but most of the ones sold are to like 12 year old kids who just learnt to bunnyhop on there dj3's and wont EVER snap there forks
