soo sick.. youd think trek would offer the slopestyle remedy based on the fact that cam and brandon are at the top of the podium at most events on that bike
I'm sure Trek said that in 09 for 2'10, there just making us wait! If there at the right price, so many people will get these frames, they are amazing!
also, the frame is absolutely perfect. if they release it... can they make it any better? it would level out the playing field greatly (if you believe a bike makes you better) i dunno. i would save my pennies, sell my kids, and buy one tho. the tapered headtube, DT shifter, evo plate, all creates an orgasm on wheels. it's flawless, it can't get... any better?
I agree with probably everything thats been said up to now,but if you've ever seen any footage of him riding it,or been lucky enough to have seen him riding in the flesh,i hope you'll agree with me when i say,it looks like a hardtail until his feet go flying somewhere and to me thats the best sign of the new breed of bike coming through the ranks i.e blk mrkt killswitch, dartmoor new one,the ns soda. All of these bikes whilst getting ridden look like hard tails, simply because of,class design, shock positions, and just total f**king cleaness, watch a clip of Brandon and you will see what i'm saying.Anyway best slopestyle frame on earth, and it's hard to see how it can be bettered.Respect you lot.
It's just how i'd like it i think Brendan, cos i know Semenuk is a bit gangly, and this frame is to his spec, but like ya said it just looks sweet,i think it would be perfect for me and i'm 5'10,12st,with the suspension set up nice and stiff,i reckon this frame could teach the rider a trick or two, nevermind owt else. Anyway ya got it spot on Brendan, sweet as a nut. Gary.
its definatley better than the dated old kona cowan DS, this bike going to take freeride and maybe even fourcross and salon style riding scenes to a new level
Yeah i'm 5'10 12st,i'd need maybe something a bit bigger than you've rode mtbkr, though this one may suffice, i doubt it,i'm with seraph on the sizing front, though,i heard Trek weren't even thinking of a production release date till 2012,bad times if thats true, cos a lot can happen in 2 years, anyway nice talking with ya lads, but the bottom line on that bike is that i want one f,king sharpish. Gringo.
my guess it that trek will have no problem producing this bike but the effort comes in making a full bike cheaper than any one elses, much like the sessions, my bet is trek are simply refinning out the financial side of this bike so that they can dominate with an amazing bike at an amazing price,
I agree i can't think why it would take that long for Trek to get this frame out to the consumer,Brad and Cam have been riding it for over a year now,it must be dialled. Gringo.
as far as getting a bike for a sponcord athlete dailed is one thing, getting it dailed for the rest of us wana bees is a different storie all together :p
OK northumberlandrider, i'll agree with that statement wholeheartedly, but i believe if they wanted to they could get it out before 2012,if that date is to be believed, cos i never said that originally,i just heard it,and like i've said before m8,a lot can happen in 2 year. Oh and by the way, nice one for pointing my spelling mistake out mtbkr123456789 Ha-Ha. Gringo.
to be honest thou am not going to hold my breath waiting for this bike, i like it but to be honest i dont like the suspension design, for racing light i'd always have a yeti commencal or santa cruz, for freeride i'd have a cove or intense
seraph, i get what you mean but if u ask me a slope style bike is normal just a light weight freeride rig. true this is custom made for sloping styling it up but it will have its other uses
Totally agree, these days though,as i know you'll agree, slopestyle bikes have there own place, hence SS,freeride bikes have there own place, hence FR,same goes for every kind of bike now,as for the roots of SS i couldn't agree more,ya've just got to watch the Adidas SS event in saalbach in 06,and every one was on 4X/MTX bikes, blur 4x's,prophets,and the like. So ya right in what ya say Seraph..Speak with ya soon m8. Gary.
Bearclaw was one of the only riders to compete in slopestyle events on a freeride bike. Like I said the original SS bikes were 4X bikes with long travel forks. Most SS riders sponsored by Specialized are on SX Supercross frames these days.
The SX-Trail as seen a lot more 4X/MTX courses than it has freeride courses, ever since the mk1,through to the mk3 we're at now, it's dominated 4X/MTX comps all over the world for nearly ten year,so it's bound to be dominant at slopestyle,a couple of suspension tweaks and it's already been to the top of 4X/MTX/SS comps the world over,it's arguably the most versatile bike in the world, for hardcore and big mountain,so thats what i've got to say about that iggz m8.Ha-Ha Gary.
I think you're confusing the SX Trail with the SX Supercross. The SX Trail has 170mm of travel and is designed for freeride, while the SX Supercross has only 100mm of travel and is designed for 4X/slalom.
I'm not confusing them, they've just evolved haven't they m8,what about Team America's SX's,they can be set up for both freeride or 4X/MTX,and slopestyle, and even DH,i've seen the current SX with boxxers on it and riding for team MOJO in America,in Decline magazine,it's one of the most flexable bikes in the world,it will literally do "ANYTHING",no bother at all. I know what you're saying Seraph about the mk1 SX(Supercross),and the current model being more or less a totally different bike, but the current ones versatility makes up for any debates we may have about it,cos like i said we've all seen the current one doing every discipline on the planet, apart from XC.But i think all of us who've commented can agree that its always been an epic bike.Good to talk with ya again Seraph, regards, Gary.
I'll get back to ya on that with a couple of pics, and has the sx trail 3 only got 4in,look on MOJO wheels website and see what some of there DH riders are using,i know i'm right on this one Seraph,i'm always the first to admit when i'm wrong, but i've seen the current sx being used for 4X/MTX and DH/FR.Always a pleasure to talk with ya Seraph,c-ya. By the way whats the streets of San Fran' like 4 riding, any urban DH comps to talk of. Gary.
I don't live in San Francisco, I wouldn't know about any urban DH comps.
The SX Trail is definitely worthy of DH use since it has 170mm of travel in the rear. If you think you've seen an SX with a Boxxer then it's undoubtedly a "Trail" model, not the standard SX with only 4" of travel and 4X geometry.
The bike loox really, really small,Tinex, cos Trek have been teasing us with these "LITTLE" beauties for a few years now,it's high time we were allowed to order our own size instead of looking at Cam & Brandon, using them comp in and comp out.Bottom line, beautiful bike, needs some sizing issues sorted, but beautiful bike. Good to talk with ya Tinex, regards. Gringo.
love the shifter and the hydraulic gyro thingy, very tidy. no more cable actuated disc brakes...who is the tall guy in the back ground with the white cap on???.
Totally agree DSK,very tidy indeed, and perfect for a bike like this, were your not changing gear regularly. And as for the bloke in the white cap,i think it loox a bit like Kyle Ebbet, though i might be wrong. Thanx 4 ya comments, and good to talk with ya m8,maybe some of the PB massive can shed some light on white cap. Gringo.
Well, look on the frame, it's lowered down...I think the original fork should have about 160mm travel...looks like they took downhill bike and put DJ fork on it. but it's just a my opinion. anyways, bike is just awesome
The Remedy SS frames only have 100mm of travel in the back. The fork he's using is commonly known as a "Pargyle," called such because it uses a Pike upper assembly (steer tube, crown, stanctions), and an Argyle lower assembly. The fork only has 100mm of travel, in order to match the rear wheel travel.
Seraph, i don't know what the comment before yours was all about,(the one you answered so thoroughly:pimpBut i've been following the changing faces of the Remedy ss for ages now through mags like,Decline,Dirt, and MBUK.And at no point as it ever been a DH frame with lowered forks on it,i agree with everything you said about the Remedy SS,end of. Gary.
