1-Mars is too cold to for liquid water to be present, trees need liquid water to survive.
2-Trees= life, if there were so many trees there why the f*ck would we be sinking billions of dollars to see if there is life on mars.

i think it's adds that extra dryness to it which i think he was going for as the background and foreground is really dry dirt. i think it's a good shot, i love the use of the lines, the coping and horizon etc. good composition for a basic enviroment.
