 yeh man, it needs more lift access to get international acclaim, you can still shuttle most trails with a car, but Skyline hill is getting a trial with the Gondola for mtb's this summer coming, and if they re-open Coronet gondola for bikes again it would be sweet! Most of the filming of Gee and Steve's segment in Follow Me was filmed on Coronet. There's also lots of more full-on dh trails in other towns/cities in NZ, some sweet places in the North Island!

Wynyard dream track in this pic has about 4 jumps and a big drop in the set, then there's loads more jumps in the mini-dream [still not small though!] just below, then there's a downhill track going top to bottom of the hill, the jump park is in the middle of the hill - I live about 5 mins away from these jumps :-)

 tons mate, some real sweet pads too! Its a pretty high grade area, the town itself is immaculate and has loads of sweet bars/clubs and a good nightlife as well as plenty of awesome scenery and leisure stuff to do, there's also two mountains right next to the town for boarding over the winter.

You can rent for as little as $80-120nz per wk, half the pop'n are tourists from all over the world [the chicks are fit as! ], so finding work & somewhere to stay is very easy

There's about 8 dh tracks [a couple around 15-20mins long], 3 shorter dh tracks, 2 primo jumps spots, a skate park and as much singletrack as you can handle all within 20 mins drive of the town centre, then there's 3 more snowboarding mountains, a bunch more singletrack, another 20min dh run and a sweet jump spot within an hours drive of Queenstown...
