 Definitely not like sand. We needed to be at the hill first thing in the morning to maximize the number of runs. In the morning, after a cold night, everything is super firm and it's almost like riding on cement. There's a short magic period when everything is firm, but just starting to soften... it usually only last for maybe 10-20 minutes though. After that things start getting soft sketchy.
