Yeah the story behind that is the headtube + headset is pretty tall, that marz AM fork came off another bike and was cut for that bike, so it was really short on this bike (barely long enough). So yes, that is a direct mount stem for an 888, the steer tube is not long enough to handle a normal stem I would recommend not doing what I did.
It's so tall, you have to get a dropped upper 888 crown and a flat lower crown for an 888 fork to work on this because the stanchions are not long enough (at least for my case, all I have are flat crowns).
bleh, I ended up putting on the 66 which fits properly (forgot to take pic befor change )... basically if you can imagine only 1 inch of steertube sticking out on top of the headset. Do you still want a pic?
Yar, it was nice on my 888, I guess if you read the comments above the steertube for the AM fork above just wasn't long enough for a proper stem, fortunatly the direct mount stem has one bolt I can at least work with... I would never run it like this because I'm uncertain just how much stress the steertube can take with it like that (although I'm sure it'd be just fine)
