just shut up man, you have no idea what your talking about. mountain bikes use different technology for different reasons. doesnt make it better. if bmx bikes were meant to be taken on trails and ridden on rocky dh courses they would be using the same technology as a mtb. its like comparing a car and a mtb. they use different technology for different reasons but that doesnt make either of them better. and what is this shit about bmx being for older people? so what it has more parts? it doesnt need better mechanics to fix them. and bike mechanic should be able to fix a bmx and mtb and road bike and what ever comes through the door.

mountain bikes are more complex...so need a better mechanic. there are mountain bikes for park (dirt jumpers) and 24'' bikes for taller people that find it difficult to ride on smaller bikes. bmx's are slowly getting better technology wise though.. such as the little suspention on the forks which are pretty cool.. but they haven't changed much in 10 years unlike mountain bikes.

It's not stupid shit. It's true. :L. There are bmx forks with 20mm travel... they are made so the bmx can absorb some of the shock you get when you land because the full rigidness of a bmx landing wrecks your back.

its pretty stupid. bmx was not made for suspension. anybody who rides suspension on a bmx is a pussy. it doesnt wreck your back it wrecks your wrists and ankles but honestly just be flowy and you will be fine. can you tell me one scenario where 20mm suspension on a bmx is better than rigid? 20mm is useless

no you actually have yet to make a valid point. if your going big on a bmx thats awesome, land it properly and your fine. you will get the shit chirped out of you if you ride street bmx with suspension. you should never put suspension on a bmx, there is no need for it and if you need suspension for what your doing 20mm wont do shit. suspension on bmx is gay. i have made my point now will you please make a valid one?

If you think that protecting yourself is gay then you have some serious problems kid. If your going big it is better to have some aid so that you do not wreck your bones with the shock from landings. Your body can only be suspention up to a certain point and after that your f*cked. also, who gives a shit if people take the piss out of you? If your a good rider then people will follow the trend of suspention forks on a BMX. i garuntee you that in 20 years people will all be using suspention forks on BMXs. That's how BMX works. People follow trends and copy other people... this is why it's like it is now. valid point made (that it is safer) now im going. :L

people will never start using suspension on bmx, there is no need for it. guys who go big ride flowy trails with steep landings and you litteraly get no shock from the landing. your telling me you have rode bmx but im starting to doubt it. also its not being safer. with suspension your front wheel knifes easier because of how easy suspension makes you lose balance, and bmx bikes knife easy enough. also 20mm litterally will do nothing for you. might take a tiny bit of impact off but not enough to make a difference. i will say again you have no idea what your talking about. go ride some proper bmx trails and tell me that you get shock from the landing

you completley avoided everything i said except for the part where it makes no difference. would you like to tell me how you have so much experience riding a bmx and you know everything. i have overshot jumps before and not once have i ever wished i had suspension. i have almost broke my ankle on a drop cause i landed funny but again, never wished for suspension. on a bmx nothing you do should require suspension.

go away i want to go to sleep :L. i've made my point. technology is more on an off road bike because you go off road. you need more technology for that. there are motorcross parts on downhill bikes now. On a bmx the furthest you go technology wise is the type of metal which makes the bike as strong and light as possible.. and geometry like on all bikes.. that's pretty much it. On a downhill bike however there's a lot more that goes into it. End of. I respect both BMX and mountain bikes but at the end of the day i know that mountain bikes require more technology. Ask anyone it's obvious
