the high end suspension products like rs and fox are made to be bottomed out, not incredibly violently but i know that in the rock shox mauual it says to not be afraid of bottoming out because thats what the product is made for.
The new 2011 Session 88 is an incredible bike. And is currently one of the best on the market. It also has thicker aluminum-alloy folds on the downtube, so that is no longer a weak area, as it was with the 2010 model.
bottom out is a usual thing...if your bike's suspension is well installed , it should bottom out on a rough course at least one time.. I don't mean a jump like this. But bottoming out your bike doesn't mean to ruin your frame or suspension. I don't really understand people who always write negative comments under those pictures...
Yeah i get wear your coming from but some peps like me dont have expensive full sus's, so we just presume it looks really bad! Like This: http://www.pinkbike.com/photo/4535679/
Seems to be common on the Session! Here's mine: http://www.pinkbike.com/photo/5822856/ Incidentally I am now on my second warranty replacement frame from Trek (a 2011 no less - upgrade!) as I kept smashing my shock piggyback into my down tube...good to see they have rectified this problem on newer frames with a cut out in the downtube to accommodate the piggyback under full compression.
yeah i hate people who think that if your suspension bottom out then it means you need new suspension your suspension is susposed to bottem out now and then its just if your bottoming it out off every thing like a curb
