Really quick question. I was thinking about getting those medial cranks. Did you have to buy a seperate spindle for it? Because i had called Core to ask about the width of the spindle and they said it was a bit over 140mm... And from my recolection. The majesty needs about 153mm...
You don't need a longer spindle. I don't measure them by mm, I go by inches for this one, but the standard 5.75" spindle that comes with them fits no problem. The only time you need a 6" spindle (153mm) is when your frame has a yoke (which the Maj does not).
Hahaha, the plaza where I went for my test ride has those ballin' ass doors which are the only thing around with decent light. I've taken a bunch of bike pics in front of those doors.
Well said. Also, just a quick question about fox forks. If you lower a Fox RC2 36 Float to 100mm, would it be just as good as an 831, but just bit heavier? Just curious because my shop needs to order a new fork. EDIT: Price wise aswell as the 2010 are cheaper now.
36 is the stronger fork, hands down. It will hold up better to torsional forces and foot jamming. If I were heavier and gnarlier, I would be on a 36 Float. Much beefier crown on the 36.
The only changes on the 831 for 2011 are the coating, decals and slight price drop. The 831 is an awesome fork but it is hard to beat a lowered Float 36rc2. The Float is about a pound heavier then the 831 but is beefier and torsionaly stiffer as Reck said. Each fork has its value points. I have an 831 on my Double that I use as an all around bike and it works awesome. Then I.have a 36rc2 lowered to 80mm on my Le Pink that sees mostly street duty and it takes a beating. For 2011 the 36rc2 gets the coating and I believe the fit cartridge is flipped like the 831. So the high and low speed compression adjustments are on top of the right leg instead of the bottom like the 08-10. Rebound gets moved to the bottom. Reck love the Vagesty, it is totally dialed.......
Oh yeah, updated spring, and lighter 15mm QR axle (they shaved the f*ck out of the lever), Kashima, and a bit of a price drop are the only differences for 2011. Very minor.
Can't believe they could save any considerable weight on that lever. I wonder what they changed on the spring, the for was sweet the way it was. I am very curious. Looking at the 2011 stuff makes me want to take advantage of my ep powers...LOL
