Nice pic! Shows very well the proper riding stance. Chin up, elbows out, heels down. Body weight placed nearly completely on pedals providing the body full range of movement in all planes. Ready to kill yet relaxed. Very impressive considering the circumstances. You should sell it to some skills instructor, it's a gem. If I could only be able to obtain and then maintain that position...

Not exactly. Your going to want some weight on the front end to make sure it doesnt wash out especially if your turning (or even if your going straight over a rock garden) plus you wanna pump through some sections with your weight on your bars too.

I get what you mean though mate.

I was referring to neutral position which is about more than 90% of body weight on pedals. It is a proper point of departure for all kinds of body movements to achieve a body position for certain action like cornering or going through an obstacles. You don't hold it through corners, you dynamicaly apply proper amount of pressure on front end or rear end depending on situation. Hill is especially great example of looking like a man who's hands and legs are moving 100% like a gummy doll while going through rough stuff while in fact he is having power explosions in all parts of his body to adjust to terrain. He nearly looks like he is hanging off the bike.

Unlike Minnar who looks like he's a solid block of concrete muscles, torturing the trail with the bike. He's super smooth no doubt about it, but it doesn't look like he adjusts to holes in terrain, he looks like he is making them Big Grin

Thank you very much for the compliment on my photo. I wish I knew some skills instructors, or I'd try. If you could sell it, I'd give you half of what they offered. I'd send you the original shot and you can send it on it's way to whomever. Let me know if you are interested.
