its definatly not tilt shift. if it was that would be the chunkiest natural dirt ive ever seen and in the pod of this same set up the guy is flipping the wrong way.Pretty impressive picture though

 This is pretty cool.

Note for artist for better authenticity: Physics dictates that the high point of the previous jump (or in this case drop) will send the rider to an almost equal height on the next jump. In order for the rider to be in the right spot at this exact moment the lip needs to be shallower and the landing needs to be a LOT further away OR the drop needs to be half its height OR the rider needs to be almost as high as the drop (in which case I would re-make the lip and landing so that there is a lot more vert on each).

tilt shift lens. It creates images that look like minature models of things. Awesome.

i understand that that specific effect exists, but you can see that this particular setup is a miniature.

how is it a turn down?
  • + 1
flag Ompalompa (Oct 12, 2010 at 18:08)
Thats a untundown. Unturndown has straight(ish) bars.
Search unturndown then search turndown

 Those bars are turned
  • + 3
flag teamn2 (Oct 13, 2010 at 8:38)
ya but they wheel has to be turnedDOWN inother words the bar/wheel have to be a complete 180 degrees turned (backwards) and the guys leg has to be underneath his bar this is just an unturndown but the guy riding has tweaked his bar so that he can get it more flat

So funny how anything out of the ordinary is quickly classed as fake

Go read up on tilt shift photoshop effects. As for the shot, very cool! Haven't seen this tried with dirt jumping and it works well

flag willmcgarvey (Oct 18, 2010 at 13:10)
but it is fake. he made miniature jumps and a drop. then photoshoped the rider into the photo. its a very neat idea and executed very well.

must have taken a while to build those mini jumps and drop to a good scale.

flag iamhenkell (Oct 23, 2010 at 4:40)
No it's not fake! Read what I wrote, it's a photoshop effect called tilt shift where you apply blur to certain areas to give a miniature impression. You can do it in camera with a specific lens but they are very expensive. Ha he's probably pleased that you've convinced yourself that he built little dirt jumps, out of what, coco powder? Razz

I know what tilt shift is, i have done it myself. sure he used tilt shit on this shot but he still built a miniature model.
this is from his other photo that got POD
