Well put man, glad to see someone does. And non one should have anything to say about the weight of this bike, 25lbs in full ride mode with super solid strong components, this is a bike made to be ridden. Well done. I love it.
I didn't say you were. Consider that the wheels you're running weigh 2750 grams; that's 6.07 lbs, heavier than even a hardcore DH wheelset. A pair of DT Swiss 240 hubs on Stan's ZTR Flow rims weigh 4.1 lbs (1857g) and are strong enough for just about anything you would be doing on a single speed hardtail with one brake.
Or 28s, or 25s even. They both come with a 20mm through axle front hub option, and the 25s are rated for AM/enduro, so I bet they'd be plenty strong for DJ use. The 25s are roughly 4.5 lbs (2070g), so there's 680 grams (1.5 lbs) saved right there.
