 how did you manage to get a gland on your drive side?

 I took the driver out of the hub, put the gland on the wheel, then put the driver back on. Simple.

 No problem. Depending on your chain and hub, you may have to file the hub guard down a bit to prevent the chain from rubbing against the guard. I had to do this.
