The suspension is amazing it doesn't dampen out pedaling so you can put the power you need down but when riding rough terrain it absorbs shocks well and what do you mean by lock down when braking ?
Well, by lock down i mean the brake jack - right before a turn you've got some bumps and you need to slow down to get in the turn. You lock the rear wheel and your suspension immediately stops absorbing, it stiffens and your bike becomes the same as a hardtail. I know the Giant's Maestro has this flaw, the FSR has it (may be a little better than Maestro, but still has it), and the single pivot has it. Throughout the web people say the Shocker has no problem with brake jack, but i wanna ask someone who owns one. I'm starting to like this model a lot!
Pretty sick bike, mate! Cheers! Could i just ask - how does the suspension work, is it pedal-friendly and does it lock down when braking? Always wondered about that and can't seem to find good info around the net.
