Say what now?? The swingarm is cromo?? Did not know that, and wonder how I've never seen it mentioned. That's good to know because I always thought the swing arms looked a bit on the weeny side...that explains that!
That was my worry bout the frame when i first saw it that the swingarm looked like it would have alot of flex and wouldent cope with big drops, but like i said when i got out on it the first thing i did was do some drops see how it handled totaly shocked me at how stiff it was and no nasty bottom out sounds or any of that rides smooth as . i would say its one of the best dh bikes i have been on. i did have boxxers on it just the race mind though and they were great for some of the big hits but i found they wernt much good at repeat hits. wouldent mind haveing a dabble on some boxxer team though heard good things. But i am loveing these 888's seems like they got there act together again. what DH bike you rideing anyway dude.
On a Banshee Legend right now...42 pounds and holding, cant lighten it up much more without spending ridiculous amounts of money to not gain much in performance. But it will be for sale here in a week or two, I think I'm going to roll with the new Nukeproof Scalp for 2011. Hopefully lose a few pounds ooff the frame, and going to try the Rock Shox Vivid Air as well... Would LOVE to be back down to a 36lb dh rig again!
i co own a bike shop over here and one thing iam looking forward too is seeing the new nukeproof scalp in the flesh, was half tempted to wait and grab one well it was out of three the sunn, cove shocker or the scalp. happy with the choice but dude its gona look sick with the vivid air on it looking forward to trying one of them out to see how it takes the hammer.
I'm gonna have to order one from somewhere...shoot me a sick deal and I'll buy from your shop. Chainreaction has free shipping and crap, but I've heard people waiting for MONTHS on backorders...
hey dude iv only just got this comment come through for some reason, iam on here everyday haha. if ya still intrested let me know mate and il get back to you with some details.
As pictured it was 41 pounds nearing 42 dude, but with the crankbrothers sage dropped down too 37 pounds with maxxis high roller tubless. which aint bad concidering the rear swing arms are steel on the sunn's but it makes it a beast for railing corners nice and stiff.
