Selected by Sterling Lorence - Good action in this race shot. Nice steep line in to the berm with solid lean from the rider with bonus dust trail to give a sense of speed. I like the composition, keeping the wheels buried in the berm and adding some depth with the berm wall. This shot looks like its had some HDR work done to it, which helps give some details to the shadows, especially in the eyes.

personal opinion from me, i hate these shots, way to many of them and they are way to easy to capture, what i mean by that is that if you have got say 20 people doing the same line in a race than thats 1/20 chance of getting a good shot being able to set up your shutter speed, iso and so on depending on the last photo, as i said personal opinion and just doesnt do it for me Smile

No mate of course not 97% skill 3% equipment and as I clearly said its just my opinion. And I gave my reasons thats all clearly you didnt respect that and took it as an insult to the picture. Another way to put what Im trying to say is footballers and photographers take 100's of photos only one of them gets picked for the newspaper

"Snow" yes you are correct. But going on a staged Photo shoot versus event shooting is completely different type of photography. Being able to choose locations and set up a staged scene gives the shooter an enormous amount of control over the situation. I like this image overall. May be because I like racing more than anything else. So seeing a DH image gets me more pumped than a jump, or huck type image might.
