Selected by Ian Hylands - I love the angle of this shot, I like how it shows the drop, and I like the dust trailing off behind Cody into the background. You can see his exact line through this section. We've seen this a bunch of different ways, but sometimes a different angle is all it takes to make something fairly normal look great.
I'm sure he is tired of people complaining non stop that the picture is not POD worthy and there's some reason it doesn't please every 12 year old kid out there that thinks they can both ride or shoot photos better than anyone. Guess what, if it's not your cup-o-tea there's another one coming tomorrow you can bitch about too!!
definitly a huge improvement, and i think that saying something bad about a photo is sometimes good and even ian has said that he likes the fact that poeple chat about the photos the good and the bad, as long as its all constructive.
definitely pod worhty if you ask me, but think it would have been a bit better if the picture was taken a bit further down the track, so that you could get the height of the jump in on the photo as well, and would have still got the dust, imagery and people etc in the photo
^I agree...nothing special happening, weird angle sure, but that's about all...I also don't like how my eyes are not drawn to anything in particular in the pic, kinda scanning to find something to focus on.
This is the type of photo that gets me pumped for racing. There's a good sense of speed (because he'd have to be ripping for the dust to still be as crisp as it is as far back as it is), and the spectators are transfixed on him. Also, with him just entering the drop, you know he's off to more technical sections of the course. Nothing gratuitous (like a huge, unnecessary whip or something), just pure racing.
I don't know, but it's a photo that definitely invokes the emotional response to racing... at least for me.
I don't know what you guys are looking at.....but this is a great picture from a unique angle! I like how Cody has ridden through most of the trail in the picture and is heading out of the scene..works for me!
i agree that it doesn't exactly draw your eye to any part but i think the angle is good and original compared to most low angled images you see therefore it makes a good change!
because #rockhopper15 , they are too worried " trolling " and trying to win a point against a professional photographer. usually bragging rights. on another note. great shot yeeeooowwwww Cody Warren's loose !!
yeah nice photo and all but Not good enough for POD ....... the pinkbikes standard is set way way high... prop's to da artist's tho for making it that way
its a great shot photographically speaking, im drawn to the top right, just some strong pull that corner has, and a lot of blue going on but its a good shot for sure!
I would agree the darkness of it draws the eyes. But this angle really makes this picture special, it's rather refreshing to see a new take over the typical shots.
meh not so much, it may have good compositional elements but pod is a mixture of two halves init? the shot and the riding... fails on showing dynamic riding imho
He climbed up to the platform of an elevated snow gun (about 25 feet up). I am top center holding a black box and was surprised that the course marshals did not yell at him.
i dont see how this is pod worthy, its a good shot but the lighting, angle and where it was taken doesnt really look all that good. if a camera was placed down slope to the left with a fish eye that would be a good shot
Baaa that a laim line to take, last year sam hill and a couple others gaped the whole section off the top rock 10 feet up from where cody is. Talk about speed into the turn.
Perhaps you should look at the Renthal ad, last year Sam went outside and didn't jump anything. He and Brendan looked at last year, but no one did it in the race...
Hey keep it in your pants man, nobody said anything about props. You aussies are so sensative, just lay back and cruise essay. I just saying these guys taking different lines. If I remember correctly sam took that line and finished 15th or something so no props there.
Yeah I've got until about 12:05 to get an explanation on there or change it, after that it's set.... You probably commented as I was pushing the save button...
Trail: Windham Resort Riders: Cody Warren Description: Cody Warren cut hard from the outside to launch the middle section. It still wasn't good enough to beat his little brother--that kid is FAST!
