No, Im a pretty conservative rider, I used this mostly on trails, not too many drops or jumps. I think what you're asking though is does it feel like it only has 4 inches of travel and my answer is no, it has a pretty low leverage ratio (2:1) so it feels alot like a 6 inch bike on the trail, but not so cumbersome and squishy. On gnarly DH tracks it certainly isn't all-conquering like a full on DH sled, you've got to pick the right line but its really snappy and maneuverable so its a nice trade off.
yeah i have a 2010 jamis parker and it has the air shock, i was thinking about going to a coil, but i wasnt sure if it would ride any different. Thanks alot for all this information
its 7.875 x 2.0, and its more linear as opposed to the progressive air shock, so it keeps its spring rate through the 4 inches of travel instead of ramping up like an air shock does
