I seen this at Arrons last triumph in Dirt magazine, and i was wondering wheather it was carbon. Thanks for enlightening me to a beatiful looking bike, and if i'm not mistaken Arron won on his first competative outing on it,so that bodes well for it's future.Wicked pic of it too m8.

Ian - is he running the new xt or xtr brakes? I was considering getting saints for my AM rig, because my CR's aren't that powerful, but if the new xts are good enough for gwin, I'm sure they're good enough for me!

Last year when GT came out with the redesigned Fury carbon DH setup they also stated that it passed every abusive stress test 20% or better then its aluminum counterpart...

Work of art on wheels.

Interesting choice of backdrop, even more interesting is the fact that it works. Smile

 why carbon??

flag IanHylands Mod Plus (Jul 14, 2011 at 17:30)
because it feels better, is stiffer, stronger, less susceptible to damage, absorbs a lot of vibration (unlike aluminum) and it's lighter. All in all just a better material if done properly...

in pretty much every test carbon (if built properly) is stronger than aluminum. I was told by Trek that this surpassed the aluminum in destructive testing in every single test, that really says something...

its funny cause even though carbon is really strong when u tap the frame it sounds like plastic!
