Good luck bro, Hope you get back on your steed soon and that you come back strong and become the new world champ or something.Good luck in next season if your ready. JUST DON'T FALL OFF!
Get well soon Matti! My stepson shattered his face this last January, so I have a pretty good idea what you are going through. Stay possitive man because you'll get fixxed up it just takes time.
News from Team CRC - We’re pleased to bring you some good news on Matti Lehikoinen’s injury following his huge crash at the Nordic Downhill Championships in Kungsberget, Sweden, over the weekend.
Team ChainReactionCycles.com/Nukeproof Manager Nigel Page told us: “Matti had a six hour operation today to fix his jaw and face, so he looks as handsome as ever! The surgeon who operated on Matti explained that everything went well and Matti is doing OK. He has some titanium in his jaw but his teeth were OK so they didn't need fixing. He will have some scarring on his head and lip but nothing too bad.
They've put Matti back to sleep until tomorrow morning and when he wakes up, his mum and Anna - his girlfriend - should be there at his bedside, which will be great for him.”
We’ll keep you updated as to the latest on Matti’s condition. Everyone at CRC, the team and sponsors wish Matti a fast recovery. We really appreciate all the messages of support received so far - if you haven't already, you can post your own message on the Team's Facebook page now.
If he didn't have bad luck, he'd have no luck at all. I really hope Matti can come back from this and string together an injury free season to show us all what he can really do.
A few years back I was at the World Cup in Bromont. My friend and I were at the party after all the racing was finished and ended up having beers with Matti. We had some good laughs after Matti started prank calling people who had their bikes for sale on the bulletin board. Hilarious! He has always been one of my favorite riders and I know we're all wishing him to get well soon. Sending you positive vibes from around the world!!
Don't even react to the fools out there- that's what they want in order to give their sad existence some form of purpose. Instead let's wish our fellow rider well on his recovery. Anyone who calls himself a rider knows that being out of action is tough- especially if riding is your job. Hope you get back to blasting some trails soon buddy- all the best.
just got out of the hospital myself today after breaking my nose and most of the bones in my face 2 weekends back after a bad riding accident. luckily my mouth and eyes where relatively unhurt. my remedy cf is toast, but i'm lucky it wasn't worse. hopefully Matti will have a speedy recovery. just part of the responsibility we all take in this sport.
They are all idiots. Im with you i read it and its obvious that you didnt mean f*ck MATTI. If you cant read a sentence on a bike forum without perfect punctuation the dont comment or f*ck off you stupid squids.
Get well soon Matti, everyone who rides knows that the pros take huge risks, and we give you loads of respect! heres to a fast recovery and some gnarly scars!
