Cool Thanks Ian I have been working on shooting bikes lately and I really love this shot. I only have two flash heads/soft boxes for now but im working on a third with a boom and large soft box. Ill get back to the studio and work on my style.
Hey Ian just curious if you are using a piece of plexiglass on the floor to get the reflextion? Also wondering if you used a strip box above? I am very curious about studio shots of bikes.
It isn't a real reflection. Look at the back tire. If there was that big of a gap inbetween the tire and reflection that would mean that it was floating.
Actually is a real reflection. It's not plexi, it's a sheet of polished white tile board. It's like fake tile that you can get from home depot, but with no tile pattern. We don't have a strip box, but there's a giant softbox above and slightly to the front as well as a few medium ones front and back and some background lights...
The 'gap' in the back tire reflection is because of the wheel stand, the reflection starts in front of the stand, not underneath the tire.
The Arum that you guys are seeing is the Arum 1, there is different classes Arum 2,1, and LE. The LE is the best one and its the one that has the same color as this one..... Check out Norco.com, all 2012 bikes are posted!
