 What is the slackest setting?

flag spoonyman (Oct 12, 2011 at 3:40)
Starts at 63º and supplied with +/- 1º and 2º headsets.

I've got the -1º with a tall crown boxxer at max height - so running approx 61º (checked with iPhone - and that's pretty much what you'd expect using maths!)

So I would get it down to 60º using the tall crown and -2º headet... Don't think I'll even try it though, now I've got the correct sag, I've grounded my pedals a few times anyway!

Sweet. I'm going to order a 1.5 cup for my M9 so I can try 62.5 degrees. I called Intense today and asked if they sell WC dropouts that lower and slacken the bike like what was available on the M6 but no luck. It's funny how you went from the steepest DH bike on the market to the slackest

It's definitely taking some getting used to, but in most places it seems to be quicker and easier to ride... Would definitely recommend getting some cups to place with the HA

I've been running it like that (approx 61º HA) since I built it and I've been surprised at how responsive it is and how well it jumps... I guess I was expecting a lot worse. I set it up for Cwmcarn (fast and rough) as that was the first ride I was going on and just left it!

Admittedly it doesn't come into its own until you get it up to speed and can be a bit of a pain in some tighter switch backs - but just encouragement to keep the speed up I guess!

Cheers man, i got the 2010 silver frame and are absolutly satisfied with.
But you should check the bearings when riding in muddy conditions. My bike always create a noisy sound when pedaling because of mud in the top/backbearings in the top link.

Also checkout a 64° headangle if you have the chance to. The bike becomes extremly easy to handle and change directions, it feels more alive then just racing down the hill with a 61° HA Big Grin

Cheers for the advice on the bearings - I'll be sure to check them for dirt!

I am loving the 61º HA at the moment, but I can see how steepening it up slightly might make it more versatile and able better suited to other styles of riding! Got a race here:

On Sunday, so the 61º should be spot on!

 Looks good Smile

Just check the bearings when your frame make noisy sounds. Otherwise dont.
Do me a favour and tell us the song of your video @YT.

Really well... for a DH bike Razz

Better than my old Glory, which is generally considered a good pedaller as well! Doesn't climb well though :/
