Ligaments are ok, damage is to the collar bone only. Thanks dude, I need to do more trail shredding instead of death hucking and this wouldn't be a problem! Nice soft SC dirt hehe.
That seems a little long for a collarbone. I did mine snowboarding the last day the resort was open, had surgery, and didn't miss a DH race that season. Mitch Ropelato broke his at Nat'l champs last year, and competed in Crankworx about a month later.
I'd just leave it in. No sense in getting cut open again, and it'll be weak until the screw holes fill in.
if I crash with the plate in, the screws will make the bone explode. or the plate could get sent through my neck ,or into my lung, or into my heart, or even poking out my skin most likely. i see my doctor next week and i'll figure out the soonest i can get the plate removed + how long for the bone to fill in the screw holes. i can't ride pansy style it's just not in my brain, and i don't wanna risk my life i'm not a pro. i might be out for over half a year.
