Thanks bro, this is my dream truck. At this point there is just a mangled 305 under the hood that needs replacing. To keep my life simple, I will probably drop in another 305 in the spring. That way I won't have to change much when we do the swap. For now I just have to hope my motor doesn't crap out until the weather gets warm enough to do the swap (she has a nasty knock and a lot of blow-by). Then this year I have to do some body work and save A LOT of money for a paint job. Damn, it's gonna be an expensive year or two.
I knew what I was getting into when I bought it. I never for a second thought that owning a 26 year old truck would be easy or cheap. This truck is truly my baby though.
Yeah mines 23 years old so I know what you mean. It's definitely expensive. It's worth it when you drive it though, especially if you do the work yourself.
88 GMC Sierra. I get somwthing new breaking every week almost. Haha and ever since I chipped it and did the engine it's been a gas hog. So worth it though, because today I got it to 130. That's damn fast for a truck.
Yes I'll take a pic of the speedo next time I do it. No joke. It's got a th400 with granny first gear, and tall gears elsewhere as far as I know. It's got a stage 1 shift kit. Also.
Haha thanks. I will get a pic when I do it next though because I know that's hard to believe. I did 115 or so last night for my friend, because he didn't believe me about it.
If I lived in the sticks, I would have gone that direction. Raised trucks are the shit, but impractical for the city. Not that this is much more practical LOL.
