Now I need to change something. WTB Devo, 55mm Haven, and an XT race crank anyone?

flag bubbaleech (Dec 11, 2011 at 17:34)
I already have Havoc carbon bars and a haven stem on the way. Devo saddle might be next.

 how much does it weigh?
  • + 1
flag lilandy (Dec 11, 2011 at 18:30)
I haven't weighed it yet but it can't be more than 28. It feels supa lite.
  • + 1
flag bubbaleech (Dec 11, 2011 at 18:33)
 It is more than 28.
  • + 1
flag Thepureface (Dec 11, 2011 at 18:37)
Im not too into xc but I was thinking sub 26. either way it looks like a fun trail bike
  • + 1
flag lilandy (Dec 11, 2011 at 18:38)
Incredible. Most versatile bike I could ever want.
  • + 1
flag Rattsl (Dec 11, 2011 at 18:38)
That bike is not sub 26. It's at least 30.
  • + 1
flag lilandy (Dec 11, 2011 at 18:39)
There is no way this thing is more than 30.

flag lilandy (Dec 11, 2011 at 18:40)
It looks so overbuilt, but guys in the shop lift it up and are like "wait. the f*ck."

flag Rattsl (Dec 11, 2011 at 18:45)
My Stumpjumper is 28lbs. Do the math.

 29.6 tubed.

 Boom. Almost right.

flag lilandy (Dec 11, 2011 at 18:50)
Feels so much lighter. I'll weigh it once we get a working scale.
  • + 1
flag Rattsl (Dec 11, 2011 at 18:53)
My bike feels good at 28lbs but lighter brakes, tires and brakes should drop an extra half pound and more.
  • + 1
flag bubbaleech (Dec 11, 2011 at 19:16)
I would expect that I will be sub 28 with all of the changes I am making.
  • + 1
flag lilandy (Dec 11, 2011 at 19:17)
 It's light enough for me.
  • + 1
flag bubbaleech (Dec 11, 2011 at 19:18)
But you can always go lighter Wink
  • + 1
flag lilandy (Dec 11, 2011 at 19:18)
And spend unnecessarily large amounts of money.
  • + 1
flag bubbaleech (Dec 11, 2011 at 19:19)
I havent spent much at all.
  • + 1
flag lilandy (Dec 11, 2011 at 19:21)
But it is not necessary. Stock it is suuuuch a capable bike. With the exception of saddle and grips.
  • + 1
flag bubbaleech (Dec 11, 2011 at 19:22)
But wider, lighter bars and a dropper post help as well. Plus a 1x10 setup is nice to keep things tight.

And I need new bars/stem for my X-Cal so the ones from the remedy are transferring.

flag lilandy (Dec 11, 2011 at 19:25)
 I hear you there.

My upcoming upgrades are XO brakes, Bontrager RXL 680mm 15rise bar or the Spesh comprable one, S-Works Ground Control tire, or Fast Traks all around...lighter SRAM cassette, and drill my guide even more.
  • + 1
flag lilandy (Dec 11, 2011 at 19:26)
 drill all the things
  • + 1
flag Rattsl (Dec 11, 2011 at 19:29)
Yes. Take it to class and bore the f*cker. Or get the alu backplate...may just drill my steel one and media blast it.
  • + 1
flag bubbaleech (Dec 11, 2011 at 19:29)
Rod, Fast Traks on that bike would be silly. I mean, what are you riding that would let you get away with a tire like that?
  • + 1
flag lilandy (Dec 11, 2011 at 19:29)
Carbon! or make it red. moar fasturz.
  • + 2
flag bubbaleech (Dec 11, 2011 at 19:31)
I just ordered carbon spacers/top cap because racer.
  • + 1
flag Rattsl (Dec 11, 2011 at 19:32)
I've ridden Fast Traks around here before and it's ok. 2.2's so it's a deeper tread and wider. It's mostly a hardpack with some sandpits and mostly rocky and rooty terrain. Lots of limestone and slickrock on some trails, and hardpack sand.
  • + 1
flag lilandy (Dec 11, 2011 at 19:32)
There are hundreds of carbon goodies floating around the shop. Road bike fits ftw.
  • + 1
flag bubbaleech (Dec 11, 2011 at 19:33)
I have heard that fast traks are decent for hardpack sand. It's what I am going to be running for races.
  • + 1
flag Rattsl (Dec 11, 2011 at 19:36)
It's a great tire honestly. Do the 2.2 version though.
  • + 1
flag bubbaleech (Dec 11, 2011 at 19:39)
Naw, supa skinny 29er race tire.
  • + 1
flag Rattsl (Dec 11, 2011 at 19:40)
Oh yea....so then...Captain front and Fast Trak rear. Perfect setup.
  • + 1
flag bubbaleech (Dec 11, 2011 at 19:40)

Saw a pic in MBA of a dude racing a 29er literally on a CX tire.

flag bubbaleech (Dec 11, 2011 at 19:46)
 I should do that.

I really want a rigid single speed 29er.

flag Rattsl (Dec 11, 2011 at 19:49)
want a rigid single speed 29er.

He has a Trek Superfly HT and has a frameset he is making a 29er ss rigid with and he has one with a Reba on it. He also races CX.

flag Rattsl (Dec 11, 2011 at 19:53)
Two identical bikes...one geared and sus, the other rigid ss.

I always tell him before races... "Go for gold!"
