They very well could be closed. I don't even know. I make the most terrible faces while riding. Take this wallride shot for example:

My brother took at least 50 takes of this and every single time my eyes were closed. I eventually had to focus more on opening my eyes than doing the trick just so we could get it. However, in the end I still look like a total goof. I just can't win.
