he has to land on his head/back, i read an article about it and it says that if he landed on his feet his legs would have telescoped into his body impailing him..
this isnt the world record anymore, some swedish guy named Fred Syvarsen or something has it. He went 80km off a 330ft cliff tucked and all and landed on his feet 2.5 meters into the snow. He went off the line he was trying to ski and was headed for the cliff, he knew that if he hit the rocks he would die so he sent it. this was in like feburary.

as far as i know he didnt land on his back on purpose cuase he was jsut goign to fast he fliepd over
WTF that wasnt a huck. That was a fall.
I dont care if it was the craziest thing Ive seen, the world record should mean having to actually ski out of it.
Anyone can jump of a cliff with skis on their feat...
I like it! Can we convince some guy to jump off the Empire State building on a BMX, and call it the biggest huck? as you don't need to land it and still get this title, then can't we push it a bit further? like: you don't need to survive? I mean think about all those poor fkrs in Texas sentenced to death - can't they "push the boundaries of the sport" instead of endign up on bzzzzzt chair?
His name is Jamie Pierre, he lands on his head in this picture but only sufferes a cut lip, he is insane and claims that the only reason why he hucks is for god. Born Again Christian, go figure, insane none the less.
I could do it off a piece of cake. On my rigid. While eating a piece of cake. Out of a tiny pink g-string. Between meals, without ruining my appetite. Blind folded. And on fire. So there!
this is insane to the max!!! i've never ever saw anyone do something this big!! this man is the MAN... ha i can't describe how it makes me feel looking at it!!!
dont get me wrong thats crazy and everything, and i sure as hell wouldnt do it. but do you have any idea how soft and deep that snow is, not only that how steep the landing is. its not like he can get injured that easilly, from hard packed snow. when bender does things he does it with a bike, on hard ass ground and from huge hieghts. and theres a bigger risk doing a drop on a bike. so u cant really compare the to
but i do give this guy props
insanee
I think it was good that he didn't land on his skies because the would take up much more pressure then when he lands on his head like that.
Its like jump in water and have skies on and jump with out skies. I think you understand what I mean.
yeah its jammie peirre, he lived, wasn't even hurt, he jumps, then halfway down the wind resistance makes him spin 90 degrees so he's falling with his back down. but he lands in like 20 feet of snow and only one of his ski's fall off i think, and he just puts it back on and ski's away.
he did it because he wanted the world record (240 something feet i think) before he retired from professionally skiing.
I've seen a ton of Jamie Pierre. Search him on you tube and youll see some more of him. it's kinda weird though how he trys to land on his back and hop back up onto his feet.
its jammie piere. he started to roll backwards. and landed on his back. i think he just broke a rib from the impact but he landed in about 30 feet of powder so yeah he was fine.
whoever said he has to land on his head, not to sure about that i dont know if this is still the record but a few guys have done about this size and they didnt aim to land on there head
yeah but he landed in like a billion feet of snow.. i mean yeah hes got balls but he goes, fucked up, and doesnt go back to make it right... or at least try to.. i duno.. balls but not talent.
massive!! but actually the world record drop in skiing is about 100 m, some dude who by accident hucked it in i movie recording .. he ride the wrong line, i read about it in some magasine
i want to see the landing sooo bad, if he actually landed that successfully he should have gone to the rampage and shown kyle strait who's boss. great job man
When I saw the video my mounth was open til I saw if that man still moving after his jump, it was a amazing feeling watching this video, totaly respect
I saw this in a warren miller film i own. its 200 feet. he lands on his back with a puff of white powder. its so deep and soft (thats what she said ;D) that hes ok
THIS IS NO LONGER THE WORLD RECORD. ITS NOW 355 FEET. CHECK THIS VIDEO. ITS PROVES IT. www.lineskis.com/stories/60 oops sorry about the caps lock. enjoy
hes not wearing a parachute but if you watch the vid on youtube he landed on his head into deap snow,
its a big drop now doubt but mountain bikers actually have to land it!
funny how skiers fall on there back off of a 200+ foot cliff and just shake it off, there is way more of a risk in biking, he wasent even wearing a helmate. Pow Vs. Dirt
Doesnt put bender to shame in least the risk factor in comparison is miniscule, a begginer could ski off that and be fine try that witha bike, i think not
skiers can go bigger i think because they got a dang soft landing and their legs as suspension but we have to land to rock hard ground. But hey at least we have the DEMO line out there to buy!
