sweet bike, used to have one of these. Decided to get rid of it and my hardtail to buy an 'all round' machine. Not sure why I didn't keep it tbh, would have made an ace AM bike!
it's an amazing AM m8,i ride all the time i do about 120 miles a week and i reckon if you have the legs it's better than an Orange 5,i cracked the headtube on my 5 AM so i had to get something a little tougher and this came up as a frame the same week my 5 bit the dust,it's a bit slower on the climbs but it's way better on the downs and it catches air about the same as a 5 but the build on my Patriot's way lighter than my 5 ever was it comes in at 31lb with scope to go way lighter!! :-)
ah sweet! I ended up buying a rocky mountain slayer instead, makes a really nice mini DH bike and pedals fairly well too, I'm not sure what it weighs, but in XC mode it's relatively light considering the build (got another wheelset for DH). I did love the geo on that patriot, though I found that it blew through the travel pretty quickly, probably would have benefitted from a custom shock tune. Do you get that as well?
no m8 i didn't but i have an RP23 on it and i just play with it depending on where i go on it,it's pretty rough around these parts and the bike gets smashed about a lot so it pays to know what your shock's up to and what you can do for yourself, generally more is better around here and less is better everywhere else
