 yeah -- that's Marin's protocol ---- cut the steer tube at the factory but still leave like 3 inches longer than it needs to be.

Almost all their bikes are like that. Just didn't cut er down yet.

Hence, we have a shit-ton of 1-1/2" x 1.5 spacers on hand.

 Thats retarded it's just extra weight, not to mention that its also a hazard.

 yeah -- l'm not really sure why Marin doesn't just cut them to a sorta normal height --- no doubt they do go through the process of cutting down the fork at the factory but, why leave them still so long? hybrids, XC, road... they're all left with really long steer tubes, and several extra inches worth of spacers.

beats me --

doesn't bother me too much... l never have to buy headset spacers.
