Highly recommended during ride drink... I've been a hammer fan for a while. It's a Montana product, and a long time ago a friend was a rep for them. got me hooked, this was one of the better tasting mid ride drinks I've had. Plus the huckleberry goo is pretty good.
have friend who is rep. but I was a big fan of the endurox stuff for a while. When I was in canoeing, I actually had a sponsorship with them. The Endurox, and * Hammer are the only real drink things I've tried. It was a pretty big ride, 8 hours, and 50-some miles with lots of vert, definitely needed it this day. But for the most part I agree, water for me.
Yeah, I've only used this for 6-8 rides maybe. I reserve it for the big rides too, I hadn't used it in a few months, and got one on my way out of town last week(on my giant ride), and was again happy with how it helped. I do like Heed as well, but I don't often grab something, I think I might start making it more of a habit...
Yeah, I use Heed for anything over like 45 minutes or so and it works great. Next time you go on one of your super epic long rides, you might want to check out their Sustained Energy as well... Sometimes I'll mix that with Perpetuem and do one scoop of each in the bottle and it seems a little easier on the stomach when you're spending lots of time on the rivet.
Word, I've been mainly a montana huckleberry and water guy, but heed's always been recommended to me... Thanks for the advice, It's always good to hear what works for other folks. I'm not very bold on my riding drink choices. The last time I raced an xc race, a buddy filled my bottle with vodka.-while funny a long time afterward, did make me vomit profusely on the spot, or rather directly after the feed are. Since then I've been mainly a gel and water guy for the 1-3 hr. rides...
I've only had it get thick during a really hot ride, I use a little more water than they say. and I try to mix out on the trail, then consume within 45 min-1 hour tops.
