He may have been a couch, but to call it a documentary I do believe would be inaccurate. They had scripts along with paid actors, most of which were born in the US. Great movie though
listen here kjones, john candy might have been a bit larger then most hollywood actors, but by no means was he a couch. or a sofa. or any other piece of furniture for that matter. and there were no scripts nor were there paid actors. that was simply well placed cameras capturing a heart rendering real life challenge of character that those soapbox driving jamaicans faced. besides, you can't write nuggets like "Our Father, who art in Calgary, Bobsled be thy name. Thy kingdom come, gold medals won, on Earth as it is in Turn Seven. With Liberty and Justice for Jamaica and Haile Selassie. Amen" that shit comes from the heart.

I hate the song Mr. Jones. Yes, actually hate it - perhaps because I find Flamenco dancers creepy, perhaps it's asinine to think Picasso might have known the long-hair singing the song.
I would like to see a video of this because i really doubt he took the whole turn that high with speed. A luge doesn't take that line and it goes a whole lot faster then a bike could on that track.

It's definitely not that hard in the winter when there's ice on it, and I go down on a sled that has no brakes! I'd definitely do it if I had more safety gear though. The concrete would rip you to shreds if you crashed D:
Since we have four bob tracks and a lot of ski jumps in Germany, riders here for years explored the potential for MTB. Winterberg some years held a MTB Icerace. Participants rode self made spike tyres and even a tandem team (img.fotocommunity.com/photos/4930599.jpg) went down the bobrun. And on two ski jumps is a event called Bikefliegen (MTB Flying) www.bikefliegen.de . They jump up to 43 Meters. And they do it on Hardtails... (The jump is not the largest, because the event is open to everybody. Watch a sample www.youtube.com/watch?v=nqKd5yxT8TM ) - beside this, during the Mad East Challenge the XC Racers had to go up the step Altenberg Bobrun. And during the www.betononfire.de they race Inline skates and Stand Up on Longboards. Crazy. But to go down this kind of tracks full force on a MTB, you need to know some facts. The transition of the berms is perfect for the faster bobs, and softer with ice on it. It is very hard to find a good line. This line will be very low compared to sleds or bobs. The roof is very close at some points and all the wires for sun shields and so on are real dangerous for a bike rider and the wall are very narrow. To start with it, its easier to enter the track on the lower Starts for Junior Tobbogan and go higher later. Good luck!
