Selected by Ian Hylands - Sometimes a rider dead center in the middle of a square image works. There is nothing really right with the composition here, except for the horizontal thirds, and it look a little awkward. That really makes it stand out though... oh, and I like the boats.

powerline....The fact that I live in a "mostly white rich neighborhood" means that I can't say f*ck an organization that promotes hatred of a people based on their skin color? I've been to sacto dude, and I got love from everyone there cause I gave everyone respect and they returned it, as it should be. Way to drop the ball on that one powerline. I use to live in sac and the last time i checked the only thing that has gotten worst is ignorance in the society there which you have so clearly demonstrated with your narrow minded comment. Its not color thats a problem its peoples mentallity. Be better then that and get involved with the youth in your community if you want to see change. We use to do weekend rides from the ymc down onto the davis cannal trails near by. Don't makes waves but choose to make a change for our youth future.

Last time I checked, volunteering your time at youth centers and food shelters wasn't a government handout, it's just people having a bit of empathy and compassion towards others. I guess when your in the KKK it's hard to understand that though.

So lets start paying fair wages to teachers and expand the school budget a bit in poor neighborhoods so that they actually have the time and resources to teach about contraceptives to these people who clearly don't get informed on the issue of teen pregnancy and sexual protection... and stop calling us hippy douche bags, I'm no hippy. Im not even liberal. Im against affirmative action and other biased incentives for minorites. I just hate racisim and lack of knowledge people have on the issue in the US today.

I know how youth is impressionable due to that sad fact that i use to be a gang banger over on crestview up until i got my first bike and found something better to do other then further trash what is beautiful about california. This pic has all the tell tale signs of manipulation. I'm sure the tuck is real, but the height may have been exaggerated.
Photos with solid color back rounds are super easy to do this with the photoshop patch tool. Only, the tool leaves a slight bit
of pixel slop around the edges of the area selected. The blur tool could have cleaned that up. Also, photos that were once a PSD file lose the digital tags that were originally on them. This is the camera type, focal length, etc.
I'm super glad PB looked into this pic before making it POD. But hey, who am I to argue with a guy who really likes boats?

Okay...so this is in no way photoshoped. I have no idea how to use the program. I'm Daryl's (the rider) girlfriend. My mum got the camera...a canon eos 1000D...so I thought I'd take it up the skatepark one evening to see if I could get a good photo to put on his website/blog. I put it on a automatic sport setting which I have no idea what the exposure is or size of the photo or anything.
He put it on facebook and got quite a few likes so I thought I may aswell put it on here so I made an account especially, hence why I only have one photo. I'm amazed that it got POD, I am a art student but am a complete amature at photography.

PS, Pinkbike is full of mindless automatons who suck down anything you feed them. You can put a picture of a seat post on the front page and it will have 900 fav's by the end of the day. Then, there's the few of us who pay attention to detail. Just as the guy who added this to the rotation said... The best thing about this picture is the sailboats in the back round.
