Selected by Ian Hylands - I've been hanging onto this for a while. And right now while I'm as far from good biking as I can probably get it looks even better. Great form, solid composition, and it makes me want to go home and ride. Some people may think the rider is a little too centered, but that puts his head pretty close to thirds, and really keeps it interesting.
Whether you know it or not everyone cares about Rule of Thirds . But like Ian said, his head and bike are matching that that's why it makes such a rad photo! ME GUSTA.
Actually a lot of people are impervious to composition, just like a lot of people can't hear when something is out of tune. You can have the rider in the middle of the shot it's fine. No photography "rule" applies all the time, and there's always a middle third.
but he rounds it with so much flow and form!! doesnt it just look great? especially where his goggles are concerned. Great riding great shot in my opionion. I don't need super amazing pods to get me stoked!
Even if you don't know what the rule of thirds is, you will appreciate the photo more. It's the way your brain works. Photographers don't make up these rules just to follow them.
Rule of thirds or not, this is a pretty sick picture. And to whoever is advertising their picture, please don't. If you got pod, then they would have to give everyone pod on their birthday.
Maybe if you don't know or care about the rule of thirds or composition you should look into it and develop a basic understanding. It's a basic compositional rule that applies to everything design based, not just photography. It might be worth some peoples time to read over the tutorials on the photo page.
