I don't see why women should be worth less in terms of points, the womens race is totally separate to the mens.

There saying that for team points, since they have a World Cup overall for the teams points combined. I can understand where they are coming from with the idea, but I still think it's downright stupid. They already have it set-up so the women in 20th (5 points) gets almost the same points as the man in 80th (1 point, 76th gets you 5), and in both categories you get 200points for first.
Really we need more people and more women to get into the sport for it to keep growing, and they are, slowly but surely, but the UCI doing something like this could have negative effects for sure.

Seems like a pretty stupid idea, I mean, its not as if the women put in any less effort than the men, they race the same tracks at the same time, uci being a bunch of cunts again.

that's it - if they lower the amount of points that women are 'worth', then teams are going to put less priority into having women on the team and less women will participate in the sport. If anything it needs to be the other way around. Sure it's probably easier for a woman to get to the top of the sport right now than a man, but the more women come into the sport, the more competetive it will get. Making women worth less in terms of UCI points is a step backwards in my opinion. Women are getting stronger and faster year on year, this is something that needs to continue!

I think UCI just started the timer on it's own bomb.

Lets be honest though, Women's DH is like the WNBA mens racing gets the attention and women's is the filler.
