HAHAHAHAHAHA I saw what they were driving and I imediatly thought "oh shit here we go... how long till the truck breaks down..." Clearly I was not alone aye Wink I have some VERY imtimate knwledge of how truly awfull those "jelly bean" F150's are, my buddys dad had one and we used it to haul gear/boats on several 1000+ miles road/rafting trips for years. NEVER did we have a trip were it DIDN'T break down on us. That thing was SUCH a POS from the day they brought it home. My Toyota on the other hand, with 300k+ miles on it and "only" a tiny little 22RE, hauled as much as we could fit in it and made a 1600 mile trip incuding being driven out of some REALLY bad roads by shuttle car drivers (yeah, they're as hard on a truck as anything) without so much as a hickup and I KNOW that it was several hundred pounds over the load capacity... Those F150's were some of the worst doestic trucks ever made (along with anything GM made from the late 80's - current) and I feel for anyone whose had to "deal" with them on a regular basis.

My 85 Chevy C-10 has been great. 1973 to about 1994 were pretty good for Chevy reliability-wise. I agree with everything else you said above.
