Was that really set on f1.2? I find depth of field not so thin and bokeh effect in the BG not that strong. That's no critic I'm just asking a technical question. Sure shutter speed is high, but iso as well. So? Really 1.2?
The 5d III with this lens will have a DOF of almost 2ft at 15 ft distance. I would say that the picture looks pretty much exactly as one would expect if shot wide open. Because the focal distance was getting towards the hyperfocal side of the range, the "bokeh" and focus fall-off would be less pronounced than if the subject in focus was perhaps 5 ft away.
i had a 85mm 1.2 and it was awesome! at first glance i wouldn't have thought that was shot at 1.2 either, but im not a pro so even after reading shootr's explanation im still scratching my head
