Nothing out of the norm here...

So are these like road bikers, but more badass?
  • + 115
Not gonna lie...looks like Bane and The Joker got together for a photo shoot on CX bikes
  • + 144
Thats totally a darth varder mask
  • - 120
Not gonna lie... but why use that stupid f*cking expression before everything?
  • + 139
Ooooooh...... Who got out of the wrong side of bed this morning!
  • + 46
At first glace I thought to myself "Wow, this shot makes CX racing looks kinda rad, too bad the CX crowd are still a bunch of uptight roadies at heart". Then I noticed the Vader mask, and trembled in fear.
  • + 10
what a comment! bit harsh, but stil made my day..!
  • - 23
For me that's second guy, with black helmet look like Darth Vader !
  • + 22
I see a broken bike in his near future.
  • + 5
@psyickwhatever.... You're one negative dude. Get over yourself.
  • + 4
Come too the dark side of the force!
  • + 14
SENSE >>> This picture makes none
  • + 5
 Get her sideways!! Smile
  • + 6
just another day on the magic world of internet
  • + 5
I do believe he is merely using the darkside off the force to pull a floating overtake
  • + 4
this is the most comments i've seen on a POD
  • - 3
This is pretty cool, but I want to see a pic of the taco'd rim 2 seconds later
  • + 24
Easton wheels are awesome. That rim was fine. Don't hate just cause its not what is considered "cool" by the average Pinkbike keyboard warrior.

FYI this was the Halloween Cyclocross Crusade. One day of serious racing, one day of partying. Beers handed out at the aide stations, anyone not wearing a costume and actually taking it seriously (like dude in green) gets heckled and pelted with whatever spectators had handy. Last year they did a CX super D too, can only imagine why that didnt go down this year....
  • - 4
 No sh*t Big-JD
  • + 2
Did anyone see he's in the hoods as well? Almost nothing to grab hold of!!
  • + 1
i dont know about all you twooters on here but this looks totally awesome, ive actually never seen anyone air out a roadie style bike.. AWESOME
  • + 2
Yes, CX-ers are crazy. But no, this shit wouldn't taco a CX wheel. Even my super-light climbing wheels would probably handle this - I've taken my road bike to an indoor bike park and played around in the air once. Was hella fun, albeit a little nerve-wracking to be clipped in while landing.

I'm starting to think these cyclocross guys are bat-sh*t crazy......
  • + 12
Well who could honestly be sane, to just sit down some day ages ago, and think, "Hey... you know what would be a good idea? Going OFF Road... on a Road bike!" and it evolved from there. Razz
  • + 6
the wrong bike on the wrong trail.........welcome to the dark side PB.
  • + 10
They ARE batsh*t crazy... But I can honestly say that I do respect their unique brand of insanity. Whoever was weird (or high) enough to come up with a sport that involves road bikes on mtb trails must be some kind of off-brand smarty pants... But the guy hucking himself like it's BMX grands? 'Geniused' out of his goddamn gourd. I'm impressed. No, really. I truly am.

Well played, PB -- I just shat myself.

Going hard on a CX bike off road makes for some almost stupidly blind confidence on a bike with some travel and a short stem. They are a rare breed indeed
  • + 1
If they can do this, why cant all the Formula 1 teams or Indy Car teams go a bit batshit and take their cars on the WRC courses.

  • + 4

  • + 2
I'd be riding away fast if Gaahl was coming up behind me.....Yikes!

 Danny macaskill On crack!!!
[Reply]
  • + 2
And this is why I love 'Cross. Been racing in Oregon for a few years now, and I gotta say, it's just as fun, if not more fun than some mtb racing. The spirit of the racers and the fun they have while wrecking themselves on the bike makes for an atmosphere unparalleled in most other races. Plus, free beer!!
[Reply]
  • + 3
This is why the hole in the Death Star was overlooked, he was distracted thinking about his next cyclocross race.
[Reply]

i get less air on my downhill bike!! that is an effort and a half!!...
[Reply]
  • + 1
A wow i see it now. His helmet.
Cx is hard. I tried it on my commuter hardtail, with the jumping on/off the bike and all the bunny hopping. Its tough.
Question, why use road bike stuff vs more mountain hardwear?
  • + 3
road bike components hold up fine to normal cx racing, and are much lighter than mtb components. cx tires run better though mud too, which is pretty common. and most factory racing cx bikes weigh less than most people's pretty decent road bike too.

If i didn't see the derailleur on the airborne rider i'd say this has to be the single speed world champs.
[Reply]
  • + 2
well actually in my hood we used to do this stuff quite long time ago! Not that we were so cool!! But road bikes were the only bikes we had, so we crossed with them :-))

Nothing new here. Zdeněk Štybar has been doing that for years in almost every pro cross race there is, including world cups. Pinkbike users please open up your mind to other disciplines of cycling.
