Basic neglect I think. Bought the bike from E-bay in perfect nick but the forks were stiff, dropped the lowers to service them and ta-da, look what I found. The guy refunded me so I was pretty lucky. Let it be a lesson kids, service your forks!!!!

Been told that it's when they're left standing for a long while with water in there. If it's dry where you are buddy you might be ok.
