Are the XTR cranks enough for the dh like stuff you must be doing on this bike? Any chance to break them?
One more thing I'm struggling to understand is how a 15mm axle and Saint brakes can co-exist together Or does the 34 fork feel really close to the 36 in spite of the "smaller" and weaker 15mm axle? Or do you maybe follow the "there is never enough brake" kind of mantra and over-build for additional safety?
Thanks, I can't see the XTR cranks breaking any time soon, sturdy bit of kit! Same applies for the 15mm axle. I've got on well with the previous saint brakes, so that made the decision easy.
As for the forks, I've owned 32's and 36's. The 34's don't feel that much different to the 36, but a lot stiffer than the 32 and not much heavier.
Hope that helps...
Yeah, absolutely, thank you! The reason I asked was certain prejudice against xtr cranks in dh or similar sports that some bikers seem to have here in Russia, you know.
Pity though it's yet difficult to source a second-hand 34.
When I started riding, bikes had square tapered cranks which rounded off/broke and lasted just a couple of weeks! these XTR cranks are bullet proof in comparison.
Very nice! I like the build - I can tell you put a lot of thought into which parts are worth choosing a slightly more bulletproof option at the expense of a few grams. I love the mix of Saint/XTR.
Thanks, yeah I've gone for a do-it-all build rather than lightweight enduro. It's definitely heavier than it could be, but I prefer the bulletproof build!!
I thought it was 32 or smaller? Either way it's a calculated risk, pretty confident I could run an 11-36 with no hassle. If you're worried about warranty though I'd stick to the guidelines.

Thank you for the answers!
