no its a 3/8 so they are the 14mm adaptors. and yeah it is cloudy as have been riding trails and haven't properly cleaned my bike in a while ago and finally the elite has always come with volcano bolts. also it was brought in march 2012

I do agree that it looks 'old', because the polished hubshell is cloudy, probably just needs wiping clean and you aren't running the volcano washers, when you don't have them, it generally means that you broke them, or that you bought the hub before they started selling them with the washers, a loooong time ago.
