Yeah its a cool bike.. Its funny you know.. Last year I was looking at them and really didn't like the look them. I wanted a demo 8 but was struggling to find one and struggling to justify the extra money for a demo. Then my mate told me he saw the 2013 status in a shop and that I should go and have a look even if it was just to see how a medium felt to sit on. Well I went and had a look, sat on it and thought.. You know what, this bike feels awesome and fits me perfectly. Hence I put a deposit and returned later in the week and bought it.. haha.. Plus I thought the 2013 model looked pretty good and even better in person. Its so easy to ride and seems to be weighted really well. Jumps nice, rolls nice, drops nice.. all round pretty impressive. Its funny though.. Plenty of people still accuse them of being a budget dh bike. Yes it's cheaper than some other dh bikes but the quality is certainly there. I bargained mine down to $2900, they wanted rrp $3300. Personally It feels better to me than the session 8 or the Glory which I tried out. The funny thing is.. Both the Glory and session 8 were cheaper than my status and they are what some of these people are referring to as "real dh bikes" compared to the status 2... haha.. Whatever!.. I've never had a bad remark on the trail though. Everyone says, "is that the new status?" and then say.. That looks awesome!. Plus at the end of the day I don't care what others think, I'm too old for that.. haha.. I care what I think and I think its a cool bike.. :-)
