l had one about the same size, l had to cover it in the bathroom so our teeth didn't rattle when it kicked on. it was a Craftsman brand. ended up buying much smaller version which didn't really have any problems --- smaller just kicked on more often but they're weren't nearly as loud.

and the wheel --- l was wondering what the heck type of wheel that was.
Its loud but doesn't cut in very often because of its size. its not running at the moment, blew a gasket. When its fixed its new home will be on a closed utility room nice and vented and sound proofed.
ha ha --- same here. blown gasket --- mine being a Sears product, they'll fix it but there's a minimum service charge of $89..
ha ha ha --- same here --- it didn't kick in very often due to its size but, when it did, it shook the building.
now, about those tubulars ---- yeah, they're a beeeyatch to install. l have some tricks to get it done but, l can't remember the last time someone bought a tubular tire from me.
i see that, we had a few regular wheelchair wheels on repair in my shop, medical insurance system requires them to send the wheels off to their official service on the other side of the country, and then there's a month or so of waiting - even for a flat tire - so people started servicing them where i work and paying out of their own pocket
