Sorry, the no helmet criticism is fair... The first post in the POD recommendations rules states "3. Riders in photos must be wearing helmets."... Unless now that's just a guideline then this shouldn't have been chosen. It says that if the photo is REALLY AWESOME then it's ok not to have a helmet and you might still get POD.
If it didn't say in the description that he wasn't wearing a helmet then nobody would really know because the peak on is cap from the angle looks just like the peak on a helmet so I don't know what everybody is complaining about.Awesome photograph dude!
You guys are missing the point. I DO think it's a great photo. I also read the RULES for POD saying that the riders MUST be wearing a helmet. I'm now asking if that rule doesn't apply. And if it does apply, it should apply to all riders / photographers. Or am I wrong, and it should only apply to some people?
Maybe he changed the description of the picture after it was chosen to be the P.O.D. Otherwise, how can you tell. How far in advance are the pictures chosen?
I totally agree man, I don't ride trials but I can seriously say that the majority of riding and tricks that has impressed me has been the crazy stuff that these insane trials riders pull off.
Really?seems to be one rule for everyone else, but not for some.No disrespect to the photographer or rider. But pink Pinkbike really, either its allowed or not.
People REALLY need to get off this helmet issue. Lets start taking responsibility for ourselves, I wear a helmet because I have made a decision based on my own ability and the risk involved. I appreciate that people look up to other riders and that's great but lets not burden people with the responsibility of others...
If a pic is a good pic then it should be pod whether the rider is wearing a helmet or not! What's next, no kneck brace no pod? No knee pads no pod? Where will this end? Lets stop dumbing down society and take responsibility for ourselves instead of blaming others!
(Agreed with above) But just have to say my input - shouldn't we base POD over whether it's a good photo or not? Isn't that what it's all about, and not whether the rider has a helmet on or not?
He is clearly wearing a helmet. If you zoom in there is a red chin strap around his chin/neck area. I don't know why people even care but yeah neg prop me I don't care.
If you have to wear a helmet to get a POD, it explains why there is a serious lack of bmx PODs and I've seen some sick bmx pictures. If you don't wanna wear one it's your choice. But that doesn't ruin a great picture.
