I know what happened, he was downhilling in fakie, and did'nt quite make the burly gap. Much later after he got a new fork he completed the course in fakie, props to him!

It probably only happened because they gave him so much confidence he was goin too hard and lost control..With some marzo's on the front he wouldnt of been going as fast. Plus what is the most commen DH fork? Boxxer.
Thats done on purpose because the fork wouldnt break that way if it event broke it would brake the other way... someone with a lot of cash did it because he probably hated roxshox at least i think so 
maxeponken, I see that you haven't heard about the "boxxer L-turn". Boxxer sometimes break that way. Often when you do a moto-X landing. So, this is nothing new and the thing you say is wrong.

For the price, rockshox are way better than marzocchi's. I run boxxer teams, if they snap on me (which they wont cuz I'm not jumping off roofs)I'll just buy another pair.

basically, boxxers are plusher than 888's, but 888's are more reliable. thats why pro's tend to use boxxers, cz there good and they can afford them, but most 'normal' bikes have 888's cz they are fit and forget
i have seen so many pictures of boxxers in 2 pieces, and i began to wonder . why the hell do they cost so dam much, there shit !
all that has to do witht the way you land, it has nothing to do with the fork, and why do you see nearly every dh rider using rockshox, cuz they are amazing, watch ROAM sometime and count the rockshox in the movie, i counted one set of Marz in it.

I hope you enjoyed the fork oil on your carpet, it may blend in with all the other stuff of the floor.
this usually happens when you dont clear a gap and land on the top of the landing and bend your forks till they snap
finaly some one that agrees that 40's rock with their cock out and boxxers jam out with their clam out.
