Even if this were true, I don't know if that's the point... The composition of the picture itself and the capturing of the action is what makes this a good picture. I don't necessarily think all PODs have to be of a rider doing something insane...
Quite a lot of the time pods are of trails that anyone can ride. It's not trick of te day or gnar of the day. It's photo of the day. It's showing us the photographers work, not the riders work.
There's 2 ways to look at it. Thru a photographers eyes or the real rider's perspective. The way I see it anyone can buy a camera and push a button. Without the rider blasting a bank at high speed with no suspension, there would be nothing but a picture of a wall. If a kid hits a 360 in the park I want in!
I don't ride BMX so this may be stupid but how do you guys even tell what frame wheels he's riding? too me if they didn't hanse stickers it would be so hard to tell them apart. well from a riding photo like this. i know theres smaller details that distinguish vmxs when you can get up close and see.
