If you have a look at one of the other photos in my album, you will see one of the cartridges stripped. It shows that, somehow, both cartridges are snapped at the top where the clips are meant to secure the cartridge to the top of the fork. I have had to drill out both top caps, push the threaded rod of the cartridge out the top and secure it with the nuts you can see. I had to machine these myself due to the very particular thread on the rod. There is also two internal nuts just below the top caps, these are all working to simply hold the fork together. Before this mod, i could literally pull the forks into two bits! The top nuts are so big because, unfortunately they leak through a point that is meant to be inside the legs due to the fact that i have had to pull the cartridge out the top slightly, so i have covered this bit with the nuts and sealed them with thread tape.
